Team & Faculty

Joseph E. Williamson, D.M.S.

Founder

United States

Joseph E. Williamson is the founder of QualCare Africa and the architect of its point-of-care ultrasound curriculum. A diplomate in medical sonography, he has spent his career teaching clinicians to scan — and building the programmes that let that teaching reach the places where imaging is scarcest.

The work

QualCare Africa was founded on a straightforward conviction: that a clinician who can scan at the bedside changes what is possible for the patient in front of them. Dr. Williamson leads the organisation's clinical direction, sets the standards its faculty teach to, and maintains its accreditation as a licensed POCUS Education Provider through POCUS.org, part of the Inteleos credentialing community.

Teaching

He instructs internationally in abdominal, paediatric, vascular and HIV/AIDS point-of-care ultrasound, and continues to teach on QualCare programmes across Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and the wider region.

Train with our faculty

QualCare Africa partners with hospitals, NGOs, medical schools and public health agencies to deliver internationally recognised point-of-care ultrasound training.
