Head of Trainers
Nairobi, Kenya
Rosemary Wambui Munuku leads QualCare Africa's trainer faculty. A radiographer with a degree in diagnostic radiography from JKUAT, she sets the teaching standards the programme's courses run to — and still scans, several days a week, in a busy Nairobi hospital.
As Head of Trainers she is responsible for the quality and consistency of teaching across QualCare's POCUS courses: how trainers deliver hands-on sessions, how competency is assessed, and how new faculty are brought into the programme. She is the link between the clinical curriculum and what actually happens at the scanning couch.
She practises at Ruai Family Hospital, performing general X-ray, mammography, orthopantomography, CT and ultrasound, with a particular concentration in routine and follow-up obstetric and gynaecological scanning. She assists physicians during invasive and non-invasive procedures including fluoroscopy, and works with colleagues across the hospital to select the right imaging approach for each patient. Before Ruai she was a radiographer at Kalimoni Mission Hospital.
Her professional emphasis is on radiographic positioning and imaging technique, patient safety protocols, and the communication that turns an anxious patient into a cooperative one — all of which she carries directly into how QualCare trainers are taught to teach.
